Returning boxes to the moving cycle after your move prevents trees and other resources needed to make a box from being used. If only half of the 40 million Americans who move each year reused boxes we would save approx 200,000 trees and 300 million gallons of water. Once a box is torn, soiled, or no longer able to hold contents it can then be recycled. Recycling is good, but reusing is best!
So free up space in your garage today. Put those used boxes into the hands of someone else moving. The trees, the person needing boxes for a move, and your garage will greatly appreciate it! There are two ways to transfer your used boxes to BORN AGAIN BOXES:
- Call to schedule a time for BORN AGAIN BOXES to come to your location and pick up the boxes. If we come to your location, we will pay you half of the rates listed below. This is in for consideration of our time and fuel.
- For greater compensation for your boxes, call us to make an appointment to drop them off at our location. If you bring the boxes to us, we will pay you according to the following rates for the ones that meet our quality requirements:

Pick-Up Requirements and Box Preparation:
We will not take:
- Boxes must be professional moving boxes, and not retail product boxes. Moving boxes are typically plain brown, and often have moving brand names on them, such as Allied, Bekins, United, or U-Haul (to name a few).
- Minimum quantity of 20 usable professional moving boxes required for pick up.
- Boxes must be broken down (flattened) by cutting the tape. Do not rip off the tape.
- Leave the old tape on boxes (to prevent tearing).
- Please organize the boxes by size.
- Place the boxes either in the garage or near the most convenient entry point of the house. If you will not be home, boxes may be left outside (close to the house, not the street), and if no rain is in the forecast (secure them to prevent them blowing away).
- Packing paper or bubble wrap MUST be bagged or boxed.
- Tape, paper and cloth moving pads, unused plastic wrap, and other moving supplies are also accepted.
We will not take:
- Boxes that were used for retail marketing or that display brand-names and product advertising unrelated to the moving industry. While we will not pay for these boxes, we will accept them for the bargain and free binWill be accepted for the free bargai
- Boxes that are missing a large layer of the cardboard (usually happens if tape is ripped away).
- Boxes from big box stores (e.g., Lowes) or discount stores (e.g., Wal-Mart) not accepted.
- Boxes that deviate substantially from the shapes and sizes that we sell (see above).
- Boxes that have stains from food, chemicals, dirt, or liquids, including water.
- Boxes that are covered in a significant amount of dust or dirt.
- Boxes from a liquor store or grocery store.
- Boxes with an unpleasant, noticeable odor.
- Boxes with non-factory tears or creases.
- Boxes that have been crushed.
- Newspaper.
- Trash.
*Minimum order of $50 required for delivery and is restricted to the greater Tri-Cities WA area; fuel surcharge applies.
